Appointments

Appointments System

At Marsh House we operate an appointment only system, we do not offer a drop - in service.

Access to health care has changed since the COVID 19 pandemic. There are several new ways you can access health advice from the team here at Marsh House Medical Practice. Our Team of GPs and Nurses are offering both Telephone and Face-to-Face appointments, however, face-to-face GP appointments are based on a telephone consultation first.

You can now access the E-Consult service via the link further down the home page. This allows you to submit a query online for review by the GP, Nurse or Admin Team who will aim to respond to you within 48 hours.

Telephone appointments are available for booking with the GP and Nursing Team. These can be arranged via reception on 01642 561282. If the GP feels you need to be reviewed in person, you will be offered an appointment to come to the surgery.

We would appreciate it if you could avoid calls for routine appointments between the hours of 08:00 and 10:30 unless for an emergency, home visit request or cancellation.

Urgent appointments - patients needing urgent medical attention will be offered an urgent same day appointment. PLEASE NOTE The Doctor will only review the 1 urgent matter in an urgent appointment slot. Any other non - urgent matters will need a seperate appointment.

Please note that we are closed for staff training every Thursday from 12 noon until 14:00.

Training Practice

Marsh House Medical Practice is a GP training practice. Qualified doctors (Registrars) work alongside regular GP’s whilst training to become general practitioners themselves.

You will be made aware when an appointment with the registrar is offered and written consent will be sought before and after any video consultation.

We also link with Newcastle University and will often have medical students working with us. The students will only be present with your consent. If you have an interesting health issue and would have the time to help us with training sessions please let us know. We would be very grateful.

Home Visits

Home visits are for people who are bedbound or too seriously ill to come to the surgery.  Please telephone the surgery on 01642 561282 before 10.30am if possible to request a home visit.  Your doctor will discuss your request with you.  When making a request the following information will be required:
